What's Doing

Tax season is now over, so my "tax season" begins in earnest on Monday. I am not looking forward to that. El Jefe has been acting tres bizarre and it's making an already annoying workplace situation really bad. Hopefully, she will get her meds straight or something and act like a responsible human being soon. Oh, who am I kidding? Why would it get better?

My trip to Vegas is all confirmed and I am cheered by news that my crazy sister and mother might be joining me. That'll make it more fun for me, although I have a sneaking suspicion that after a week there, I will be sick sick sick of the place. I'm looking forward to being professionally reenergized at this conference. It's nice to see people being positive about what I do, as opposed to my jaded boss and unappreciative partners.

In other news, I did my annual Easter meal. Just two couples. I cooked the birds upside down, but perfectly otherwise. Crispy golden skin and wonderfully tender meat. I was not in the best spirits though, because I have been feeling ill for a while now. I took a half day Monday and took off Tuesday to recover. I still feel off, and it's a little disconcerting. It's kinda like that week last summer when WebMD and I convinced myself that I was dying of leukemia, but I wasn't of course. I just need to get back into the swing of things.

The weekend looks to be loverly, and I will be doing a little bit of yardwork. I'm becoming so domestic, it's a little scary. But good at the same time. I'm very excited about moving in with the boyfriend and starting a whole new period in my life. There are tons of details to get through before I move, but I'm not worried about it. Everything will work out eventually.

In other updates, I saw the Ben Kweller/Death Cab for Cutie show and it was spectacular. It was kind of cute seeing the little teenyboppers going crazy. Especially since I was safely ensconced in the 21 and over balcony bar for the show. If I was on the floor with them, it would have been complete hell.

Angel continues to floor me with its brilliance. Coming to terms with the cancellation is tough. It's much different than the Buffy sitch. This bird still has wings, and stories to tell and lots of joy to provide. They're going out on a truly high note though.

The Marsters particularly made me happy this week. Spike coming to his first official meeting with a briefcase had me in hysterics. Then when he pulls a cold brew out of the case, I lost it completely. His delivery of the "I'm listening...with beer" line was pitch perfect. I'm glad to have Lindsey and his big gay necklace back in the mix. Plus, Boreanaz is getting better every week. I felt like the Dead Fred/Wesley rooftop performance of "Imitation Our Town" was dead weight, but other than that, perfection. I loves me some ATS!

Dream Watch 2000: I was an on-air pundit, commenting on The Apprentice. I was much more interesting than the other windbags on the Today Show, I can assure you.

What I'm Listening To: Prince and the Revolution, Purple Rain. Pure 80s bliss! The only thing missing are The Time's great numbers. Thank god I have the DVD when I need my "Bird" fix.

What I'm Reading: Iraq stuff. Terror stuff. Political stuff. Just some light reading on hateful topics.

What I'm Watching: The Apprentice Finale. Omarosa is a psychopath. And a sociopath. And all other "paths" that lead to badness. While I think Kwame should have fired her, or at least tore her a new one and gave her nothing more to do, I do regret that he picked such a crappy team to back him up. They cost him the job. Yes, he picked her, but I think he realized he would be stuck with her because he had the even choice and just wanted to smooth her waters by not picking her last. What a fruit loop this woman is! Bill did a great job though, and I was glad that he won. It's nice to have a reality finale between two nice, awesome people for once.
