2004-04-05 - 10:06 a.m. I Heart You Spring! Come Back! Why is it suddenly winter again? I'm tired of this crap. We had like two or three nice days last week, and so we got socked with rain this weekend. Now this morning there is ice and some snow. Cut it out! Isn't it enough that we're still at war and we have bipartisan idiocy at the polls and Angel was cancelled and my job isn't terribly exciting right now and my kitten is fat? Come on! We need some sort of break. Whew. Sorry, had to vent a little there. In other boring update news, I had a fun weekend, which started Thursday. Spencer and I went to the Twilight Singers show. Greg Dulli was in fine form and it was a great time. I love seeing them live. Friday night we hit Dave & Busters with Cala and Vik. Spencer won me a Hello Kitty! And we lost spectacularly in pool, but for all my trash talk, it was expected. Saturday night we went to the new Macaroni Grill and the food was great. I also bought a gorgeous dress at Ann Taylor Loft. I'm hoping there is nice weather for Easter, cause it would be great to wear it with my new heels for the holiday. The crappy weather also forced an indoor picnic catered by Wawa instead of our usual interesting brunch locales. We got through three movies on Sunday, which is a new Netflix record. Finding Nemo was really cute and fun. Ellen Degeneres was amazing. I don't think I would have liked it even half as much without her. Bringing Down The House was bad. So bad. I can't believe it was made in 2003, cause the racial stuff was lifted from a 70s movie. And not at all clever. I think Eugene Levy was the only funny person. Everyone else was pretty hateful. I didn't really want to see The Missing, a Ron Howard production, but I really ended up liking it. It was brutal and spooky, but haunting and action-packed. Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett are always good. Poor Aaron Eckhardt. He should have been in it for longer. After all, TLJ is great, but he ain't soft on the eyes. And that's the buzz-free buzz. I just don't have much interesting to comment on, cause the only things that are inspiring rage in me are politics and Iraq, and I don't want to consider either for too long right now. 47 days to North Carolina. That's the number that is getting me through the long days. Dream Watch 2000: Can you believe that it is just today, April 5th, that I am noticing that Dream Watch hadn't been changed yet to 2004? The whole Roman calendar has escaped me. Therefore, in an homage to Conan O'Brien's "In the year 2000" skit, I am renaming this section, once and forever, "Dreamwatch 2000." Oh, and I didn't have any notable dreams last night. What I'm Listening To: Radio Sunnydale. The last Buffy soundtrack is a very good sampling of music from Seasons 5-7. I'm still going to get the imported UK version, since it's a lot longer and has even better stuff. Anyone care to contribute to that cause? What I'm Reading: Tales of the Slayer, Volume 3. I just got it, so I'm hoping it's as good as the the first two installments. I'm on a Buffy kick, what can I say? What I'm Watching: Donald Trump on SNL. It got very tiring after awhile, but the best part came at four minutes to the end when Donald Trump, wearing a yellow suit, danced in the "Trump Wings" commercial. He looked like a friend of mine at the disco, which made it for me.
