2004-02-17 - 9:39 a.m. Games People Play Maybe I'm getting older, but I'm really starting to count game nights among my favorite activities. It keeps the night zooming along, helps bring spontaneity (especially among groups of strangers), and is just plain fun. I've always liked a good challenge, and my competitive side loves to go for the gold, but I've never been so into playing games as I am right now. It might be the increasing popularity of couples competitions. Or the fact that just sitting around drinking gets old after seven years. Who knows? The fact is though, that even when I hold a mundane TV party, I like to devise some sort of activity for it. I highly recommend trying it. Even to people who are still young enough to rage till 4 and still make it to work in the morning. You might be surprised how much fun you have playing a board game or interacting with a charades group. It's like the olden times before radios and TVs. But with a lot more beer to drink after getting an answer wrong. Dream Watch 2003: Nothing at all...too tired to dream. What I'm Listening To: Josh Rouse, 1972. What I'm Reading: People Magazine's thought-provoking treatise on the unraveling of Bennifer. I love trashy gym reading. What I'm Watching: Old School. The movie is pure genius, and I'm glad that Cinemax is showing it on one of their stations at least twice a day. It keeps me from watching Attack of the Clones, which is also on twice a day.
